Hello - my name is Anton Reiling, I'm 19 years old and I am studying industrial engineering at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences, in the second term. As prior professional experience is required for my studies, I was looking for a suitable company where I can work in the field of metal processing.
Soon Altmann GmbH came to my mind because I had already known this name for years and the company is located only few minutes from my home. I decided to apply for a 4-week internship in September 2018. During this time, I was going through each stage of production.
I cut to size semi-finished materials according to technical drawings and processed them further. I was shown the basics of turning and milling, both with conventional methods and on CNC machines. In addition, I assisted with assembling belt hoists. Here, I was fascinated by seeing how a huge machine can be created from many small single parts.
During these 4 weeks, I was gathering important practical experience which was very useful for my studies starting in October. As I liked the internship very much and I could gradually assume more responsibility, I decided to gain all of my pre-study practical experience at Altmann GmbH in the term break.
Here, I was allowed to work on conventional machines nearly independently and I could program most of the workflows on the CNC machines myself.
In the meantime, I have completed my internship and to sum it up, it was a great time at Altmann GmbH and thanks to this internship I could enhance my knowledge considerably with respect to my studies.
At Altmann GmbH, you deal with exciting, diversified tasks and you are supported by a friendly team.
For everybody who needs a technical pre-study internship - I can warmly recommend this company!
